island trip - day 3
2 decembre 2006
we woke up late, after check-out time. we got ready very quickly and within an hour, we were on a boat to Koh Phi Phi, the island where The Beach was filmed. in the van, on the way to the boat, maria and pamela met a dorky guy from israel. he had a bad smell and was traveling alone. he attached himself to the girls, esp. maria, and sat next to us on the boat. we didn't have any reservations for a hotel room, so once we arrived on the island 90 minutes later, we had some trouble. we were being bombarded by hotel agents to come stay at their place. and it is quite expensive on koh phi phi. finally we found a place. it was called Natacha Hotel i think. and the guy from israel followed us there. he stayed in a room right next to the 2 that we checked into. we devised a plan to get rid of him because he was under the impression that he could follow us 6 girls around and join us on our trip. we were quiet and tip-toed around his room. we left the hotel, without the guy, and spotted him later having dinner with some attractive females at a fancy restaurant. hmm..
we really didn't do much on day 3. we explored koh phi phi and made plans for scuba diving with a company called Visa - Padi Divers. there are no tuk tuks on the island because it is so small. you either ride a bike or walk. we went to Tiger Bar and drank buckets. everyone except Anne and I danced. all of our scuba instructors (the ones that would be teaching us the following morning) were at Tiger Bar, drinking. which was strange. we ended up hanging out with Greg, one of the instructors who was kind of creepy. vicky talked with Bobo (another instructor, real name was chris) for hours. anne and i left the bar early because it was getting boring.
